I anxiously awaited it’s arrival (MiniPod 32). It finally arrived last Monday. I couldn’t wait to open the package. I knew my hearing was deteriorating but refused to admit the severity of loss. As my wife and I were enjoying coffee and the morning paper, she asked me, “Where’s Paris?”

Trying not to appear incredulous to her query, I said, “In France.” Receiving a look that approached disgust, she said “I said “TERRACE.” I immediately knew that I had some serious relational maintenance ahead of me.

I simply could not justify borrowing money or taking penalties for early withdrawal from retirement IRA’s to purchase hearing aids. Today, I finish my fourth week using my Hear Pod OTE aids and am very pleased with the hearing improvements they have given me. As a first time user, I have nothing to compare to but I can honestly say that my first fear was comfort; that fear was overcome very quickly as I have worn the units for 10 – 12 hours daily since I received them and have had absolutely no discomfort. My second fear was that nothing would sound the same or sounds would not be as I expected them to be. Again, with the exception of my personal sounds, my wife and children sound just as they always have and I am delighted.
Needless to say, I am extremely pleased with my Hear Pods and I have told my friends and will continue to tell others. After all, who doesn’t appreciate a great deal.

I tried HearPods about 5 months ago and began my first hearing aid, thought I needed to return them (which was no questions asked and 100% refund) and get a “name brand”.

BOY was I wrong.

Tried 2 different brands and had no luck with them being fitted properly. The first set of HearPods (according to my wife) worked better (less complaining from me) than the “name brand” so I just placed a order for the MicroPods again.

Keeping these puppies this time for sure. Some people need to be hit in the head, me it took 2 wallops to realize just how good these really are.

Yes, I was one of those guy’s. I complained about people not enunciating their words clearly enough. I played the TV so loud that my family complained and were always turning it down. As a college professor, I found that I asked students to repeat questions frequently.

As a child, my hearing had been hypersensitive. I used earplugs to study and found that I could literally hear pins drop and perceive other noises that did not register with other people.

Finally, it dawned on me what the problem really was and I had a hearing test. Turned out my hearing was pretty poor, the victim of too much exposure to too many loud noises in my youth.

I didn’t like the feeling of being pressured by my audiologist and my M.D. to quickly go for the product they were marketing. I bought the cheapest Internet hearing aid I could find and it helped. But after problems with it and another similar bargain product, I was about to return to my medical practitioner, when I found the ad for the HearPod family of products. My last shot at doing this my way was the behind-the-ear hearing aid programmed with my specific hearing deficiency. Bingo. It brought me back in to the world of the hearing and I cannot imaging a better product. The service has been perfect and the company must ship the hour they receive the order.

I have nothing to say but good things about Hearpod and plan to stay with them from now on.

I never realized the extent that my hearing had deteriorated until one day I was driving with my wife when we came to a railroad crossing on a back street. I took a quick look and not expecting anything drove on to the tracks. My wife let out a scream that made me jump! There was a train coming! I didn’t even hear the train’s whistle!

Fortunately,there was time to get off of the tracks before the train came. I tried to make a joke of it to my wife saying I knew it was there and we had enough time to make it. She knew better, though, and told me it was time to do something about my hearing.

I lost most of my hearing in my right ear due to a gun blast 25 years ago, but recently (over the past five years) I have noticed my left ear is declining as well. “HearPod has been a life changing experience for me. I have always been embarrassed by not being able to hear in business meetings, show events or just watching TV and having to say, “Can you repeat that?” or have people ask me, “Are you reading my lips?”. The price of most hearing aids is typically out of range of the common person’s pocket book, since insurance rarely covers the cost. “Sometimes one has to get hit in the head with an attention getter to realize the truth. In February of 2009 I was attending a golf tournament in Boca Raton, Florida, with my family – wife, son, daughter-in-law and brand new granddaughter.

While standing with other people, I was told later that a policeman had addressed me to back up. I didn’t hear him. I was arrested for assault of a police officer by not obeying his directive.

I was released immediately and given a court date. Needless to say this shocking incident prompted me to immediately schedule not one but two audiologists tests. Both showed significant decrease in my hearing, especially on the side the cop was standing.

I was overwhelmed with the costs of Miracle Ear and Beltone products. So I began my research on the internet. I studied all the major brands – checked prices and capabilities.

I came across HearPod – was drawn to the price and then amazed by the capability. I made several calls to HearPod and had informative conversations with customer service and Randy Wohlers So I sent off my hearing test results and ordered two invisible behind the ear models. The improvement of my hearing was immediate and outstanding!

The story of this organization begins here. Due to my lifestyle, the behind the ear model was not optimal. So I called again and got courteous treatment from customer service. I switched to the MicroPod and found these to be equally great and a better fit for me. However, the left one kept slipping out of the canal. Another call and more of the same courteous treatment.

I had custom molds made and after sending these in received custom MicroPods. Equally great sound, yet I had this tunnel or echo effect. I ultimately called customer service and following the norm of courteous treatment sent these back and returned to the regular micro fit.

To some, this might seem like a lot of stuff going on; but to me my hearing was important enough to not just “settle for” OK. Again I made an adjustment with the silicone pillows and voila. I am very satisfied.

Back to the arrest. I made an appearance in court with my audiology tests, my new HearPods in and received an apology and dismissal of charges.

Thanks for the opportunity to say something about your HearPod. I say HearPod as I only bought one. On reflection, maybe it should have been two. One is OK, but, the only drawback is, when you talk you tend to be able to hear yourself speak and can sound echoy. If potential clients want the best scenario for themselves then, go the whole hog, buy two.
My HearPod is the 32 band model and it has helped considerably. I hasten to add that I don’t wear it all the time, only when required.
One of the great benefits for me is that your HearPod has helped improve my hearing generally (ie, when not wearing it). This, as far as I’m concerned, is due to the fact that sounds that were previously lost to my brain, have been reactivated by your HearPod (if this makes sense?). I put ‘it’ in now only when required. It’s nice to know, however, that it’s in my pocket for the right occasion.
To be honest, I don’t wear it all the time because it’s not so bad being partly deaf when ‘you want’. Very handy on long flights, reading or when you don’t want to hear all those annoying sounds.
Overall, my little “device” has helped, especially when walking and talking . . . I now don’t have to constantly be on the right side of whom I’m with.

I am writing to you today to give you three cheers for helping me get my HearPod fixed.
Your people kindly sent me two of the parts shown in the attached photo. I installed one of them and the HearPod still did not switch with the switching button on the aid. I nearly died, thinking that you and I had gone to so much trouble to get me those two items, and maybe that was not the problem in the first place.
I didn’t think it could possibly matter, but then I tried the second one of the parts you sent me, and lo and behold, PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It works perfectly now, and the button switches among the operating modes, just as it did when it was new. I have no idea why the first part I tried did not work, but the second one did. It could be that if I had simply removed the first part from the aid, and re-installed it, it might have worked OK. I’ll keep the second one for the future, if I ever need one again.
I am absolutely thrilled. Thank you again for your consideration. Excuse me for saying this, but you are one of the nicest people I know. (Well, I feel like I know you.)

“Realizing that I had a hearing deficiency I visited both the local Audibel and Miracle Ear offices. My suspicions were correct–I did have a hearing loss! Both of these suppliers offered me a trial period which I accepted, but while doing so I discovered the HearPod website on the internet. “I have been a happy user of HearPod hearing aids for over two years and to say they have changed my life is an understatement. But, I did have a little shipping mishap sometime back for which you kindly sent a personal apology and thus I have your email address. So, I hope a brief email is okay to raise a business inquiry direct with you. I am located in Sydney, Australia, and in my business and social life I come across many people with hearing problems. During any discussion regarding hearing loss I openly admit to wearing aids and have continuously given your company and your hearing aids a high recommendation. Yet, when I talk to the same people many months later they are still tolerating their hearing loss. Further queries usually indicate a general reluctance to spend what they see as a significant sum with a US based business over the internet. I have been involved in setting up and running my own information technology businesses distributing software from US vendors for many years and thus having an entrepreneurial mind I started wondering why there is no equivalent of HearPod in Australia. So I started doing some research and found that government sponsored reports indicate that there are over 1.5 million people in Australia who need hearing aids but do not fall into the pensioner categories that are entitled to free or low cost hearing aids via government programs. I have also found from some circumspect discussions with audiologists that they seem to be very negative about people sourcing affordable hearing aids from the Internet and that many of the biggest clinic groups are owned by the hearing aid manufacturers or their offerings to patients are heavily influenced by sales commission rates etc. A collection of other research material indicates many advisory type organizations also lament the lack of a source for affordable hearing aids. My experience seems to be typical. I was quoted mates rates of AU$7,500 for CIC aids from an audiologist who I have known for some years. Even with the AU$ on its current low exchange rate I would only spend around AU$2,900 for my current HearPods (I now have the Micro 32X aids).”

WOW!!! That is ‘Customer Service’ like no other!!!

My husband and I received our first ‘HearPods’ a little over a week ago, (March 26th), and are amazed at the immediate improvement in our hearing. Our children tell us they notice the difference in no longer having to answer ‘What did you say’, and our TV reception is far clearer with no ‘closed caption’ obscuring the picture.
