Care
1. Cleaning your HearPod digital hearing aid
QuickTime movie 624 KB
Wipe your HearPod hearing aid after each use with a clean cloth or Kleenex. Check the little white wax guard at the end of your HearPod to check if wax and dry skin have accumulated. Use the brush provided to clear away anything that may block the tiny opening and diminish the sound quality.
Once each week, swab your HearPod with a Q-Tip that is slightly dampened with rubbing alcohol. Never get your HearPod hearing device wet or submerge it in water or another fluid.
If your HearPod sounds weak even after changing the battery, follow the cleaning procedure above. If this does not restore the sound quality then it is time to change the wax guard. We recommend you do this at least once every two months to assure optimum hearing benefit from your HearPods.
2. Changing the Wax Guards
QuickTime movie 724 KB
Follow the directions on the wax guard package. Remove one of the six tabs from the wheel and you will see the little extraction post next to a new basket. Place the post in your hearing aid, then gently turn or unlock the basket and pull it out of the hearing aid. Holding the tab, place a new guard into the end of the hearing aid. After replacing the wax guard you should notice sound clarity is restored.
If you have poor eyesight, we recommend you have a family member or friend help you change your wax guard.
